Frog Hop 5K

Today I ran 5K #2 of this year. It was at Sandy Creek Park here in Athens & I was able to get Joy to run it with me! Athens has the BEST park program I have ever seen! Sandy Creek Park is so beautiful with so many amenities including a beach, canoes & kayaks, frisbee golf, a horse trail, & SO much more! Today was the PERFECT day to get outside & run, too!
Joy & me pre-race!

And we're off...all smiles at the beginning!

Just finished mile #1 (& a long, slow hill!)

Joy giving the "thumbs up"

Almost to mile #2 - still smiling!

Coming up on the GINORMOUS dam hill!

Coming to the finish line - game face!

Finished! Improved my time since January, too!

We did it!
Next...Dawg Trot 5K - March 20th! Bring it!

Obsessively, compulsively scrapbooking

Yesterday it hit me. A new obsession - a new project - finally finishing (actually starting) the scrapbook of our whole engagement/wedding. For over 2 years now, I have had a HUGE pile of shower invitations, cards, programs, napkins, announcements, pictures, etc. from our engagement and wedding. I have been meaning to put them all into this really cute album that I bought at Not Just Stationary about 2 and half years ago. Finally last night, I ordered some cute wedding scrapbook paper so I can FINALLY start on this book (especially since right now I have the time to finish it.) Here is a picture of the beautiful ivory album I bought...
Obviously there is a "W" on the front of our album & not an "M".
I have also decided to make Will a scrapbook of the past decade of our lives together! I found this beautiful album online...
This album is the "Life's Journey" album which just so happens to fit perfectly with this project! There are lots of beautiful papers & stickers that match the album, too. I'm gonna hold off on buying the stuff for this album until I finish the wedding one, though. I'm so excited about this project! It will recap the past decade of our lives together. All the way back to 2000 when we first started dating - through high school, college, our engagement, wedding, and the 3 years following. Here is one of our first pictures together that will most definitely go in the album...

Hilarious...I know! Will was 15 in that picture & I was 14. This picture was taken at my parents' house. We were going to our very first Homecoming dance freshman year. There's more fun pictures where that came from...

Wrapped up in you

Valentine's weekend started for us Thursday night after Will got off work. All the "snow talk" convinced us that we needed to make a trip to the grocery store considering we had no food in the house! Will went off to the grocery store while I stayed home & did laundry. My Valentine came back with these...

Beautiful pink baby roses!

We slept in Friday morning, hoping to wake-up to snow. No snow! I honestly didn't think it was coming. But sure enough, a little after noon, it started coming down!
The kitchen window is Missy's favorite spot to people/dog watch. She loved watching the snow come down!

This is Tini's favorite spot to watch...

So Friday afternoon while the snow was falling, I opened the back curtains so we could watch the snow fall out our two big glass doors. Since I'm really in a fitness phase right now, I convinced Will to do a yoga/pilates DVD with me. It was so calming doing yoga while watching the snow come down. Missy wanted to do it, too...

I mean really...she's into yoga!

Millie's first snow!

For dinner Friday night, Will made vegetable soup (Greymamma's recipe) & grilled cheeses! Perfect dinner for a snowy night!

The next morning I let Will sleep in & I brought him cinnamon rolls in bed!

We then got dressed & took the girls for a walk in the snow. Next to our complex is a huge grassy field. We walked over there and let the girls play. We let Tini off her leash because she usually stays right with us. Missy is an escape artist so she doesn't get as much freedom. The entire time Tini sprinted all around the field, running as fast as she possibly could! When she would get tired she would lie down and just eat the snow! She LOVES the snow!

Running around with their daddy!

After our walk with the girls, we decided to go over to the Churchill's house to find a place to go sledding. But by the time we got over there, the snow was almost completely melted! I was amazed at how fast it went! Instead of sledding, we just went & ate lunch at Chick-fil-A! After lunch, Will & I went & bought Taken & went home & watched it with the girls. After the movie, I did one of Jillian Michael's workout videos while Will started cooking dinner...

Saturday night Will cooked a very romantic dinner! He bought my favorite wine - Woodbridge Chardonnay!

My sweet little chef!

He set the table with my mom's china & lit candles all by himself!

I'm one lucky girl!

Parmesan crusted chicken with roasted potatoes, roasted green beans, & garlic bread! Incredible!

He also got me a singing card with a little Missy on it.

Valentine's morning Will woke up & made me french toast in bed! After breakfast we went for a 3 mile run/walk to campus & back. The rest of the day we just laid around & watched movies. Lazy days are my absolute favorite!

On Valentine's night, Will cooked another INCREDIBLE dinner! We had planned to just stay in, rent Couple's Retreat on demand, & cook a fun "tropical/beachy" meal. Will made tilapia, hush puppies, corn on the cob, & roasted green beans sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Definitely the best tilapia I've ever had! We also made pina-coladas...mmm!

Overall, the entire weekend was soooo much fun! It was so nice to just stay home, watch movies, cook meals, & be completely wrapped up in each other! We love going to Gainesville for the weekends to see family & friends, but staying home & relaxing was exactly what we needed!

Ephesians 4:1-2

"...I want you to get out there & walk -- better yet, run! -- on the road God called you to travel. I don't want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don't want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere."
